Working Capital Loans Save Business
After over forty years in business my local general store The Village Shoppe thought it had seen it all. It saw Duane Reades multiply and attempt to dominate its territory. They saw development plans for no less than four superstores, two Wal-Marts, one Target, and many moons ago a K-Mart. They survived all of those potential set backs. They, and thank god their employees, survived the crazed driver who drove through the front wall of the store. They survived robberies and recessions, expansions and explosions, not to mention they survived me and my two brothers working there.
It would have been tragic then had they not survived some build up of water in the walls. It was a troubling day when a concerned contractor was brought in to attend to a seemingly innocuous leak in the ceiling. That contractor honestly leveled with the store’s second generation owner and manager Frank. The walls would
need to be gutted or the whole Shoppe would collapse within two years. The finances were grim in such a hard economy but these problems needed to be attended to.
Lucky them that there was the option of a working capital loan. This would allow the business to function and pay off the renovations over time. Without that working capital loan one of the great institutions of my neighborhood would have been sunk. Needless to say, we’re all happy things worked out.
